The Ultimate Fighter 17.4 ‘Sign of Disrespect’ Review

How the hell do you follow up last’s week INSANE knockout?

It only took four episodes before the time honoured tradition of pranking started on TUF. Team Sonnen took advantage of a late night power outage and decided to teepee Team Jones’ room. Looks like everyone on that team was a beginner in that area because instead creating a stream of toilet paper, they just ended up tossing rolls at people’s heads. Talk about epic fail. While the prank was one of the worst in TUF history, Team Jones was upset that the prank disrupted their sleep when both teams agreed not to do that. Come on, when you put 14 testosterone-fuelled dudes in a house with no women, TV or Internet, stupidity is bound to happen.

Retaliation was right around the corner the next day at the weigh-ins, when Collin gave Kevin the finger when Kevin offered a handshake. Uriah took offense to it, but Collin merely said it was in regards to disrupting his sleep the previous night. While I think Collin’s action were a bit on the disrespectful/unprofessional side, I will agree that I would’ve flipped Kevin the bird too.

The fight ended up in the hands of the judges when they unanimously decided Collin had won. Dana White felt that Kevin’s heart wasn’t in it after the first round and he was right. There was an opportunity in the first round when Kevin had a combo of punches and when he has Collin on the ropes and up against the cage, he decided to clinch instead of press the action.

This win meant the fight picks were back in the hands of Coach Jones and he chose Bubba against Kelvin.

Next week, Bubba finally gets to fight, while Team Sonnen engages in some team bonding over a game of charades.
