Another week on The Middle, another round of life lessons learned. All the Hecks have their own separate issues but they eventually find that even if they didn’t get what they wanted, they’re doing just fine.
Frankie enjoys maybe a few moments of peaceful zen on her fancy new patio built by Mike and his “friends” before new neighbors move in next door. With her luck, there’s a bunch of screaming kids out in their yard at all hours of the day. She soon realizes she’s becoming that grumpy old lady yelling at the younger mother to shut her kids up. I like how Frankie managed to find the positive side in all this, even if she’ll definitely go insane after a whole summer spent hearing these kids yelling. She’s just got to remember the good old days when she was in that younger mother’s shoes.
Sue will have a much harder time finding the silver lining in her new dorm for the fall. After she and Lexie lucked out with getting #4 in the dorm lottery, they decided to be good people and let the current residents of their coveted room keep it instead. Hopefully God or karma is on their side and they end up with a room much better than that basement dungeon they seem to be stuck with as of now!
Meanwhile on campus, Axl and Hutch are making some dough by exploiting Kenny’s cooking for them. Their Winnebago makes for a crappy food truck when they can’t keep up with the huge demands for these famed grilled cheeses. Being the types of clueless guys they are, they don’t notice when the truck is on fire. Now any and all of their profits will go back to fixing the hole in the roof before it rains. Like I said, karma’s coming for everyone.
Mike and Brick have an ongoing debate about whether or not Mike’s work friends are indeed friends or just employees doing their boss favors to stay on his good side. Mike doesn’t have a lot of friends but he seems content with it, even after he’s proven right by Brick. If that’s the vibe he’s putting out in the workplace, it’s probably better off for him to keep his employees at a distance anyway.
All in all it was another average but enjoyable episode!
