The Bold and the Beautiful is the only daytime soap that hasn’t changed over to the full hour programming even though they’re celebrating their 8000th episode this last week. They still rock the half hour programming, and that often means we get to see a lot of one character or maybe a few of them, but very little of the others. We don’t always get to see them work their magic in a way that works for us in some way, but we always get to see them work their magic in some way at some point. However, the half hour programming makes it impossible for everyone to get big screen time on the regular, and there are always a few characters we see a lot — and then there are those who we feel we aren’t getting enough time with.
Eric
He is the patriarch of the Forrester family, yet we see very little of him these days. The past few years have been very slow on the Eric front, and that makes us sad. We get that he’s managed to put his life to the side and allow his sons to take over the family business and spend more time making decisions while he enjoys his life, but we miss him. He’s a powerhouse, but he has a very subtle and elegant way about him. Perhaps that’s something that comes with age. He becomes more respected and more refined as he gets older and that makes it all seem like something we don’t want to see less of. He’s a major player in the games, and we would love to see more of him if they would be so kind as to bring him back in a more prominent role.
Justin
It’s not that we don’t see him as much as we’d like. We see him all the time. He’s Bill’s right hand man, his attorney, and the fixer of all his problems. But he is also the man who has created some of the biggest messes on the show indirectly. He is always telling Bill it’s a bad idea, but he gets paid too much money to actually go through with standing up to Bill. He gets what he wants, he helps make things seems more legal, and we love him. We adore watching him roll his eyes and tell Bill things are a bad idea. We love that he is someone who makes us laugh all the time with his quick wit and his clearly very judgmental looks. He’s our favorite character of all time on the show for that reason alone, and we just don’t see enough of him. If they want to bring more Justin to the show, that would be spectacular and amazing and something we couldn’t even get enough of. Just saying, writers. Just saying.
Wyatt
We get to see a lot more of him than we do many of the characters on the show, but we still feel it’s not enough. It’s never enough. We love him, we want to see more of him, and we just want more from him in the new year. We see him as a supporting role for his brother and his father and his mother, but we’d like to see him have something else going on. We want to see more of him and his relationship with Sally. We’d like to see him get married, have some babies, help her start a fashion line and a business and all of that. We’d love to see that happen on so many levels, and we’d love to see this situation turn into something a bit more incredible. We love him, and we love what he has to offer, and we don’t get why they don’t show more of him. He is one of the best things to ever happen to the show, and they should know that. He’s so far from being like his brother and his father and his mother that we simply cannot get enough. He’s actually a nice guy, and that’s so rare on the daytime soap circuit, and it makes us want to see him front and center in some capacity more often.
