A New Twist on Supernatural’s Classic Formula
Supernatural has always been known for its unique blend of horror, humor, and heart, but the show is taking things to a whole new level with the upcoming fourth episode of the new season. Titled “Bitten,” this episode is set to be a departure from the show’s usual format, adopting a found footage style reminiscent of The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. This bold move promises to deliver a fresh and exciting case-of-the-week for fans to sink their teeth into.
Sam and Dean Investigate a Bizarre Murder
In “Bitten,” our favorite monster-hunting brothers, Sam and Dean, head to a college town to investigate a strange murder. Upon breaking into an apartment, they expect to find their suspect but instead stumble upon two dead bodies. The real twist, however, lies in the disturbing video footage found on a laptop in the apartment. The footage features three college students (Brian, Mike, and Kate) who hear about an animal attack in their town. The rest of the story unfolds through this footage, as Sam and Dean watch and try to piece together the mystery.
Living in the Found Footage
Executive producer Robert Singer has said that this episode will be a unique experience for viewers, as they will be “living in this found footage” for the majority of the episode. Sam and Dean will only appear at the beginning and end, with the rest of the story being told through the eyes of the college students. This immersive approach is sure to make for a compelling and suspenseful episode, as the audience is thrust into the heart of the mystery alongside the characters.
Singer also praised the episode’s guest stars and the portrayal of college life, adding another layer of realism to the found footage format. The combination of a fresh storytelling approach, intriguing mystery, and strong performances is sure to make “Bitten” a standout episode in Supernatural’s already impressive catalog.
