I think that all of us can safely agree that the “Hi Stranger” video that went viral in the last week is one of the weirdest, most disturbing videos of 2017. If you haven’t seen it, the video depicts a pale, naked humanoid lying on its stomach and whispering sweet nothings directly into the camera. “Hi, stranger,” the figure says calmly. “It’s been a while. I’ve missed you.” It only gets weirder from there. The video, created by Kristen Lepore has been touted as one of the most unnerving videos people have seen in a very long time. However, Stephen Colbert wanted to raise the bar a little bit with his own spin.
“Some people have said this is the most disturbing cartoon they’ve ever seen,” he said of Lepore’s creation. “Well, we here at The Late Show took that as a challenge.” Instead of presenting a naked humanoid, Colbert and his team created a new version of the video starring none other than President Donald Trump. Trump is sporting red Make America Great Again briefs and a Putin lower-back tattoo, cooing about his health care bill.
It’s tough to decide which video is more disturbing, the original or the Late Show version. Both are pretty chilling but I’ll let you decide. Check out Colbert’s version below:
