You would think that during the Trump administration, considering how short tempered and how much our President watches television, that Donald Trump would have commented on late night shows by now. This week Stephen Colbert got his wish. In a recent interview Donald Trump had the following to say about Colbert:
You see a no talent guy like Colbert. There’s nothing funny about what he says. And what he says is filthy. And you have kids watching. And it only builds up my base. It only helps me, people like him. The guy was dying. By the way, they were going to take him off television, then he started attacking me and he started doing better.
As much as I hate to admit the President is right, he does have a point with regards to Colbert in the ratings. The Trump administration has in effect been a blessing for the Late Show. As far as no talent that’s where the “correctness” of the statement ends.
And surely enough Colbert was there to pounce on this quote as well as declare victory. Check out the clip below:
