Stephen Colbert discussed modern romance and the search for one’s soulmate last night on The Late Show. So, of course, that discussion led to him talking about Monday’s night season finale of The Bachelor. But before Colbert dove into everything that happened during the three-hour (yes, it was three hours) finale, he provided his viewers, some of whom might not watch The Bachelor, with a quick recap.
“Let me catch you all up,” Colbert told his audience. “On a previous episode, Bachelor Ben made Bachelor history by telling two women that he was Bachelor in love with them, Lauren B. and JoJo, and I can see why: they’re both attractive, intelligent, and, if you combine them, nearly the weight of one adult woman.”
As Colbert explained, Ben ultimately had to decide between Lauren B. and JoJo. And who did he end up proposing to? It was Lauren B., “the beautiful, sweet flight attendant.”
“Oh, Lauren B.,” he said. “She’s so nice, I bet she’d let you have the whole can of soda….In an airplane, that makes her like Mother Theresa.”

But The Bachelor wasn’t the only thing that Colbert talked about last night. While he gave romantic advice to his viewers, he also shared some very odd but entertaining life hacks as well. Colbert touched upon how life hacks can help you with everything, from voting in the 2016 presidential election (and God knows, we all need help there) to eating at a fancy restaurant to even getting into better shape (hint: marry a personal trainer).
However, the best moments came during the opening part of the segment and near the end of it. The first hilarious moment happened as Colbert had trouble pronouncing the word “Pringles,” calling them “Pringlers” in the middle of a joke. The second one occurred when Colbert was suggesting that frozen maple leaves would work well against ninjas, and the image put on the screen made him break out into laughter.
