An Opioid Epidemic Strikes on the Next South Park

After introducing us to the Coon and Friends franchise last week, South Park will tackle another topic on its next episode this coming Wednesday. It’s about an opioid epidemic that will strike the town. Prepare for another half-hour of laughter with Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny, and the townsfolk of South Park on its next episode titled “Hummels & Heroin.”

“Beloved entertainers are being cut down in their prime due to massive overdoses of opiates. Drugs are flowing into South Park. A passionate young health advocate has traced the source of these illegal meds and is about to expose Stan Marsh.”, according to a statement released by Comedy Central regarding on what will happen on the show this Wednesday. South Park usually tackles the recent issues around the country. You may now start guessing on what issue the episode will talk about based on the premise.

South Park is created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone and it is currently on its 21st season. The show was launched on August 13, 1997. During last week’s episode titled “Franchise Prequel”, the show introduced the Coon and Friends franchise in which most fans assumed that it is a parody of the current trend of superhero cinematic universe films. The episode also tackled the spread of fake news through Facebook. It also serves as the lead-in to the launch of the video game South Park: The Fractured but Whole. The game will be available this coming October 17.

You can watch the episode this Wednesday, October 18 at 10:00pm ET/PT on Comedy Central. All new episodes this season will be available for streaming in HD on South Park Studios and Hulu the day after the premiere.
