Ragnarok, the end of all things. It’s what Team Witness will be facing as they try to save the world from the Hidden One’s wrath in this third season finale of Sleepy Hollow. It has been a very turbulent ride and though there’s the possibility of the show not coming back for a fourth season, this finale’s ending will not be a safe one like the one we have seen from shows like CSI: Cyber.
Ichabod and Abbie are still in the Catacombs with Betsy Ross, who I’m sure is slowly coming to terms with the fact that she’s not in the 18th century anymore (welcome to 2016, Miss Ross). Pandora’s box has been regenerated, magically, and the battle against the Hidden One will begin. I predict that the Witnesses will not be able to defeat the Hidden One towards the end of the finale like most other season finales out there and end things on a cliffhanger should the show be renewed for season four. I still have my doubts given the predictability of a few episodes in this third season of the series, but it would be great if the show was renewed. At least, the actors who are still with the show get to keep their jobs. On the other hand, if the show is cancelled, Ichabod could guest star on Outlander or other period dramas.
In the promo clip below, we see the Headless Horseman riding through a dark forest. Does this mean that Abraham has been released from Pandora’s box? If so, will he aid in the fight against the Hidden One? Or will he be siding with the god and go against the Witnesses like he always had? It will also be interesting to see how Jenny will be able to move on, both emotionally and physically since Joe’s unfortunate death in the previous episode. She is heartbroken to be sure, given that she had no other choice but to kill the man she loved when the spell to change him back didn’t work. I hope that the younger Mills sister will be able to find happiness again.
