Sleepy Hollow: Future Molly Appears. Ichabod Becomes War.

Sleepy Hollow

You know a show is starting to get good when one of the good guys become evil. In tonight’s episode of Sleepy Hollow, things are about to get real and a whole lot worse. Team Witness, be on high alert!

When the mystery woman, Lara, first appeared, it confused me. I thought that the show had gone all Legends of Tomorrow on me by introducing a character from the future. It turns out; I was right in a way. Lara is from the future, but she’s not who she says she is. Our girl Lara is none other than Miss Molly all grown up. Yep, did not see that coming.

I also find Malcolm’s plan to use unique totems to summon the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse intriguing. That and using four humans as the host for each horseman. The part where Ichabod took the bullet fired from the Turricula Ignis for Agent Thomas was a bit ironic. Back in previous seasons, we saw Jeremy Crane become the Horseman of War. Now, it is his father’s turn. Granted, the job was intended for Agent Thomas, but Ichabod couldn’t let Molly lose her mother again. Way to play the hero, Crane.

Speaking of Miss Molly, her performance in her school production impressed me. Ichabod’s commentary about his days in the military and the concept of theater, however, made me facepalm. It’s just a school play, Ichabod! Not an actual depiction of your glory days fighting alongside General Washington! I do have to agree with him on the fact that theater is a two-way street where the audience reacts to the performers onstage and not a morgue.

On a side note, Jenny’s lack of scenes in this episode worries me. It is evident that she wants to wrap things up in D.C. as soon as possible to go after an artifact, but she can’t just abandon the team! They need her help to rescue Ichabod from his imprisonment as the Horseman of War! That and save the other two human hosts from their unfortunate fates.

Another thing that has become evident is that Alex has strong feelings beyond friendship for Jake. She was close to telling her best friend everything when Jenny suddenly dropped in to get them out of Malcolm’s house in the woods. I still think that Alex is harboring feelings for Jake out of the fact that the latter saved her life. I could be wrong, but that’s the way I see it. With only two episodes left until this fourth season ends, will there be a big, happy ending or will there be a taste for more?
