Asking a family member for a favor is always a gamble. Most of the time they show up, and you owe them a casserole for life. Wisdom teeth removal is one of the most common surgeries around. Oral surgeons estimate that roughly 5 million Americans have their wisdom teeth pulled every year, which amounts to about 10 million teeth. So our 19-year-old was one of a very big crowd, and that crowd gets one rule on the paperwork: bring a grown-up.
