First Piers Morgan got into a heated debate with comedian Jim Jefferies on Real Time with Bill Maher regarding Trump’s travel ban. Needless to say that debate got pretty ugly with Bill Maher practically having to restrain Jim Jefferies from going after Morgan. But it didn’t end there. The latest on Piers Morgan and Trump’s travel ban extended to Harry Potter writer J.K. Rowling. It began on February 11th when Morgan tweeted to Rowling that he’d never read her “drivel” after Rowling initially tweeted to him “If only you’d read Harry Potter, you’d know the downside of sucking up to the biggest bully in school is getting burned alive.”
Morgan later tweeted “When all the hysterical anti-Trump liberals stop screaming, everyone will realize everything I said on @RealTimers last night was true.” Morgan insisted that he was attempting to call out the “hysteria” around the Trump travel ban.
However, one book shop owner is not having it at all. After reading the exchange between Morgan and Rowling, Simon Key decided to teach Morgan a lesson and tweet him every single line of the first Harry Potter book. He has already sent about 100 tweets of a planned 32,567 to Morgan, and told Sky News he was prompted by Morgan saying he would “never” read her book.
Mr Key said: “I’m doing it because Piers clearly spends all day on Twitter staring at his timeline. “He clearly needs a bit of a break from all the abuse, so as he mentioned that he hasn’t read any JK Rowling, rather then having to tear himself away from Twitter to read it, I’d tweet him. “Obviously I’m sending it in bitesize chunks, which hopefully he’ll be able to cope with, rather than giving him the daunting process of reading a whole book.”
I have to admit this is pretty funny.
