“Blood doesn’t make family. Love makes family.” I couldn’t agree more, Sylvester. Team Scorpion (minus Toby and Happy) head to Ireland to pay their respects to Megan. Walter and Tim also try to work together to stop a deadly cloud of carbon dioxide in this week’s episode of Scorpion.
The scene where Walter warned his family about the lake exploding was heartbreaking. No one seemed to believe him as they brushed off his warning like it was nothing. On top of that, everyone was nicer to Sylvester than they are to Walter. Ouch and double ouch. On the other hand, the human calculator keeps in touch with Walter’s parents more than the genius does. I also can’t believe that Walter and Tim got themselves Parent Trap‘ed. Toby told Tim to be nicer to Walter while they’re in Ireland and Walter to help Tim study for a Homeland exam.
It’s also heartbreaking to see no one from Team Scorpion stand up to Walter’s family as the latter mocked him for all of his mistakes. He was a kid when he made them! A kid! Get over it and Team Scorpion, you all should be ashamed of yourselves for not backing Walter up. He didn’t deserve to have his family mock him like that!
Happy and Toby stayed behind in the garage so the mechanical prodigy can get the cadmium out of her blood. I’m relieved, to say the least, that the pretend marriage between her and Walter will be over and she can finally marry Toby. I can only imagine the huge Quintis wedding that’s going to happen. I hope that none of them will get cold feet before the big day.
Back in Ireland, Agent Gallo, Walter, and Tim tried to stop the lake from exploding. Their efforts were in vain as the lake still exploded, sending the CO2 cloud right toward the procession. Not good. I thought that after Sylvester convinced everyone to head north, they would all be safe. What I didn’t expect was the wind that picked up and sent the deadly gas cloud northward. We humans just can’t catch a break, can we?
As usual, Team Scorpion saved the day by using the Epsom salt to counter the carbon dioxide. The butt-kicking scene that followed between Walter and his bully neighbors felt a bit unnecessary. Yes, it’s great that Walter wants to stand up for himself, but he should’ve followed Paige’s advice and take the high road. Though it did shine a brief light on Tim’s past as the Navy Seal said that he used to be a bully himself when he was younger.
In all, this episode was good. I enjoyed the touching scene at the end when Sylvester gave Walter a rock that he got from outside the garage. The human calculator tried to pass it off as a stone he got from the bottom of the lake in Ireland. He ended up caving and told the truth moments after. It’s okay, Sylvester like Walter said, it’s the thought that counts. Walter also promised to stay in touch with his family more. I totally agreed with Paige when she said that one should maintain relationships before they disappear. Wise words, Ms. Dineen, wise words indeed.
