Sad Exits We’ve Seen on Bold and the Beautiful

The Bold and the Beautiful fans know that cast shakeups are common. People come and go, and that is par for the course when you get your start in the daytime television world. There are always those who come and go that don’t really stir the pot much. There are those who just don’t make a big enough impression on fans to matter, and there are those who make it their goal in life to see what they can do, how they can do it, and what will happen if they don’t stick around. It’s not often someone who is super important leaves this particular show, but there was one character departure that really took a toll on the show. Fortunately, they’ve managed to ask her back all in the same year.

Bye, Sally Spectra

Courtney Hope was hired to play the fiery Sally Spectra not too long ago, but her character made a sudden and shocking departure when things took a turn for the worse a year into her contract. The people thought her character wasn’t doing enough, she wasn’t bringing enough to the table, and she was no longer needed on the show. The entire Spectra/Forrester situation seemed to do poorly in comparison to what it did when it was new and exciting all those years ago, and the writers thought they might just send her on her way.

She didn’t have much to do with that decision. They simply decided not to renew her contract, and they decided they were done with her. She made a statement to the fact that she was forever grateful to have been given the opportunity to play the role for a year and to make the new friends she made, to make the new schedule she made, and to be who she got to be for a year. She wasn’t happy about being asked to leave, but she did it — and she did not burn a bridge when she did.

Welcome Back

Writers seemed to have thought this was a character that didn’t do much for anyone, but they were very wrong about that. She was amazing in her role, and she brought something very interesting, shocking, and exciting to the table as Sally. She was so good and fans were so upset when she left that writers realized they might have made a mistake. They decided to let her go a couple of months before they were knocking on her door asking her to come home and play her role again.

She did, too. She came back from a horrible trip in New York with Thomas — who was so busy with Caroline and her lies that he did not have time for her — and she fell right into Wyatt’s arms. And fans fell hard for that one. He was fresh off a relationship with Katie that fans liked. They were good for one another in the way that they were both always losing out to their siblings, and they were having a good time figuring things out for themselves.

But they have made something very special of their newfound relationship, and fans are loving seeing them so happy together. They are cute together, they make a perfect pair, and we can only hope that the writer will put them a little more in the front and the center of the storyline as we go into the fall and see things as they progress. They are cute, and we kind of love them together.

Long Ago Exits

Courtney Hope certainly isn’t the only person who left the show and caused upset with the fans. Rome Flynn took off when he was cast as a regular on a hit primetime show “How to Get Away with Murder” and when Kim Matula decided she was done with Hope a few years ago, fans were heartbroken. She was more badly missed than probably anyone we know, and that was a horrible situation for all of us. However, there is some hope with the new Hope. She’s good, and fans have responded well to her and her role on the show. She’s been good, and we like her now that she’s part of the cast.
