Our Favorite General Hospital Love Triangles

General Hospital fans are all kinds of excited about some of the things that are going on around here right now, but we like to take a moment on occasion to look back at the past. The things that have happened around here are not unique, but they are special. There are people gone, there are people coming back, and there are couples that are not going to last very long when they realize that things aren’t always going their way around town. For example, we just want to focus on the fact that there are some couples who are just living their lives in way that is not working well for anyone but them, and there are some who like to get involved with people who are already taken. And that, my friends, is where we are today. We aren’t fans of love triangles as a rule, but these were some of the best in Port Charles.

Sam, Jason, and Drew

What makes this one of our favorite love triangles of all time cannot be counted in just one moment. It’s a long story of things. First and foremost, Jason and Sam are our hands down favorite couple on any show. They have crazy chemistry, and they are good to one another most of the time. They don’t really cheat or do the drama thing that so many other couples do around here. We were all crushed when Jason was killed. She was a mess, but then she realized he was back with a new face. She was ready to have her husband back, and they lived happily ever after. That is, they lived happily ever after until Jason came back. It turns out someone took him, brainwashed the twin he never knew he even had, sent him to Port Charles, and left Jason in captivity. When he was able to escape, he came home and wanted his wife and family back. And it was exciting. Of course, there is no togetherness that’s official at the moment, but there is the chance that they could end up back together even though she chose to divorce Jason and marry Drew first. Can you call it a love triangle when it’s kind of the same man?

Brenda, Sonny, and Jax

Oh, Jax. He is the man who likes to make Sonny’s life a bit more dramatic. He comes and goes when he feels the need, but he’s always coming and going with a woman that might or might not belong to Sonny at the moment. His great first love was absolutely Brenda, but they didn’t work out because she ultimately chose Jax, and then Sonny, and then Jax, and then, well, you get the point. But then it happened with Carly, too, and that means that Sonny is forever trying to make sure that Jax stops taking the women he wants to be with. But, this one was epic. She spent years going back and forth between the two men with her heart, and we think she actually really did not have a clue which one she loved the most. And that meant she eventually left the city and didn’t choose either of them. It worked for everyone, but we’d love to see her make a comeback at some point.

Elizabeth, Lucky, and Nikolas

She is always torn between two men, and she’s even had more than her own fair share of love triangles in her life. She had one with Jason and with Sam, and she’s had one in the past with two other men who seem to be very interested in being with her. They were brothers, which is the worst kind of love triangle in which to be. She was in love with Lucky, and we maintain that he was her one true love all those years. We don’t think for even a second there will ever be anyone who comes close to him in her heart, but she did allow herself to find some romance with Nikolas on occasion. It wasn’t wise, and it ultimately led to the demise of the many things she considered her own good fortune. However, that’s one thing we cannot handle.
