Given the success of the Classic NES mini, Nintendo has no intentions of ignoring it. Why they’re not making more is a complete mystery to me. But let’s move past that. Hopefully all of you reading this have a brand new Classic NES in the packaging that you can reap serious profit from on Ebay. In the meantime you can potentially look forward to a Mini-SNES.
According to Eurogamer, who has had fairly solid sources on Nintendo happenings in the past, there will be an SNES Mini (to follow the NES Classic) later this year. This news comes directly after Nintendo has begun to halt production of the NES Classic worldwide, following assurances from Nintendo of America and Japan that they wouldn’t actually do that (and even still after Nintendo denied that the Wii U would be ceasing production, then subsequently did just that weeks later).
Frankly I don’t really care whether or not that rumor becomes a reality. But I will say this. If it does become a reality I’ve got two games in mind: Street Fighter II and Sim City. That’s all I’d need to keep my occupied for at least a month. Hell I’d consider whipping out the old 6 button controller with a joystick. I’m pretty sure I have that in storage somewhere.
Anyway, we’ll keep you posted if anything new pops up on this front.
