New Suicide Squad and Monster Squad Mashup Trailer is Amazing

Anyone who is into movies from the 80s is well aware of the classic teenage comedy/adventure film Monster Squad.  It’s the story of a bunch of kids who fully believe in monsters and aptly name their little group the Monster Squad.   In short these monster fanatics attempt to save their hometown from Count Dracula and his monsters when no one else really believes that these monsters exist.  And if there’s one thing I have to mention about this movie it’s the link “Kick him in the nards!”  “Wolfman’s got nards?”  It’s also important to note that the guy who actually plays the werewolf in this film is none of than Jon Gries, the same guy that played Uncle Rico in Napoleon Dynamite.

Speaking of squads, there’s one more movie with “squad” in the title that everyone’s anticipating.  That movie is Suicide Squad which centers on a secret government agency who recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency.    Everyone’s obviously anticipating Jared Leto as the Joke but that’s no what we’re talking about at the moment.  What we’re talking about is this incredible mashup that was made this week.

YouTuber thatmattcaronguy has done an incredibly accurate mix on the Suicide Squad theatrical trailer–set to Queen‘s “Bohemian Rhapsody“–featuring expertly cut scenes from The Monster Squad. The trailer would be awesome enough just by adding the music to it, but it’s also paced and cut as close to the new film’s trailer as its possible to be.

And you’d be amazed at the similarities in the two movies.  It’s beyond awesome.
