It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a week since legendary guitar player and singer Chuck Berry died. During the past week musicians have been paying tribute to Berry and creating their own versions of some of his greatest hits. Last week I posted one of the first tribute songs which was done by Green Day. Perhaps one of the greatest cover tributes was uploaded to Youtube today by none other than musician Leo Moracchioli.
For those that don’t know him Leo Moracchioli is from Norway and is most known for doing crazy music covers on Youtube channel called Frog Leap Studios. His channel is pretty well known as it has 1.4 million subscribers. His latest cover is dedicated to Chuck Berry and Leo blasts out “Johnny B. Goode” in a very heavy metal kind of way.
I personally think that even Chuck Berry himself would appreciate this version of his song. It’s new. It’s fresh sounding. It’s definitely taking a risk. Just as important is its intensity. The video itself makes you kind of want to scream but in a good way.
