Usually you think bread, filling, bread. There’s usually several steps in between of course but making a sandwich isn’t really that difficult. You take two slices of bread, or more, you take your sauces, if you like, and you take your filling, be it meat, veggies, a spread, whatever. Then you put them together and enjoy. Not too hard, right? Well that all depends on who you ask. A sandwich is a sandwich is a,well, you know.
Here are some of the biggest and in some cases oddest sandwiches that are seen in movies.

Thornton Melon knows how to fix a DIY sandwich on the fly. When your soon to be ex-wife is throwing a snobs-only party it’s important to know just how to take what’s available and use to your best advantage. Truth be told that was probably one of the best meals anyone had at that party. And come on, no beer at the bar in your own home?? That would have been a deal breaker right there.

Can’t say enough about John Belushi. The guy was a comic genius even if half of his gags were kind of gross sometimes. He knew how to play them up though no matter if they were disgusting and made you want to vomit. How he ever stuffed an entire burger in his mouth though is just a little surprising but also a little stomach-churning. It was still hilarious though.

He’s sitting in a Subway. He’s a professional golfer. He’s moaning about how to make more money to a person that specializes in PR. Yep, that was one of the most obvious setups in film in a long time. Of course Adam Sandler isn’t really know for being subtle most of the time. He seems to just like hanging it out there for you to see no matter if it’s embarrassing or vulgar in some way, shape, or form. But give him credit, he makes it amusing.

This is probably the most tragic of the bunch because while Gary Busey orders his subs and makes sure that Keanu KNOWS how many he wants, he never gets to eat them. Sometimes life can be so unbearably tragic. Just the way he describes them and the manner in which he tells his younger counterpart to go get them indicates that those must have been awesome meatball subs. Ah well, sigh.

So disregard the small grocery store coming out of Andy’s lunch bag and focus instead on Ally’s new take on the breakfast sandwich. Sugar, lots of sugar, spread as evenly as one can on two slices of bread with a pixie stick. Captain Crunch, applied liberally in one thick, extra crunchy layer. Then carefully combine them and chow down. Yeah, I don’t think Subway will be marketing this sugary treat any time soon, if the good lord is kind.
So those are some of the biggest and probably oddest sandwiches of all time in the movies. Did I miss any? Feel free to shout a few out, I’m sure there’s plenty more.
