Million Dollar Listing New York is a series that follows the lives of five real estate agents, and here is everything you need to know about the cast.
Fredrick Eklund
Our past can keep haunting us for the rest of our lives, but this is not the case for Fredrick Eklund. Eklund was born on 26th April 1977. He grew up in Sweden but later moved to New York and started his career in real estate. In 2004, before moving to New York, he acted in pornographic films that spread first within a few months. The spread of his movies got him to call the film career quits. He does not regret it, though.
He says that being part of the pornographic film industry has not affected his career negatively because now Eklund is one of the top real estate agents in New York. In 2014, he was ranked by Real Deal as the top real estate agent in New York City after he sold 28 buildings. The sales were a record in real estate at that time and he has had the opportunity to show properties to celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Parker. Eklund has founded a residential real estate agency in Scandinavia which has around 50 employees and makes sales up to $1 billion per year. Eklund is married to Derek Kaplan, who is an artist, and they have two children together.
Luis D. Ortiz
We get to achieve things in life that can either make us happy or sad. Luis D. Ortiz has been able to meet challenges that made her unhappy in his film career and as a real estate agent. Ortiz was born on 13th November 1986 in Guaynabo grew up with his parents and twin brother. Ortiz studied film direction in a film academy in New York and graduated as a director in films. After graduation, he directed and produced many films but Ortiz was however not happy with one film and decided not to show it.
He later ventured to real estate business and has assisted several players in securing their dream houses. Ortiz has established his own real estate company, Ortiz & Co. and is now one of the renowned real estate agents. At some point in 2016, he wanted to quit real estate claiming that it did not make him happy but later during his 30th birthday, he announced his return to the industry as reported on Revolvy. He also loves motivating children on the importance of education therefore in his free time, Luis takes his time to tell them of the importance of hard work and persistence.
Ryan Serhant
Our beginnings might not always work well for us but despite weak origins, we need to remain stable to succeed. Ryan Serhant ventured into a business and nearly quit because of low returns. He however later regained the strength to proceed and become a successful businessman. Serhant was born on 2nd July 1984 and is currently a real estate agent, an author, and a television personality. He started working as a photographer in 2007 to pay rent. As a photographer, he landed into acting as a career but could not fair on well. He later decided to give real estate a try.
During his first year in real estate, he only made $9,000 and nearly gave up but Serhant, however, decided to double his efforts the following year and started earning more. In 2008, he had established himself as one of the top agents in real estate. Serhant chose real estate to support him get into acting, but the career later turned lucrative for him. He has been able to start real estate agencies in New York and Los Angeles and his team of agents sells nearly $700 million worth of properties in a year. As for his love life, Ryan is engaged to Emilia.
Steve Gold
Steve Gold has hit the headlines severally. He was born in 1st March 1985 and before coming into Million Dollar Listing New York, he was a model who made the most appearance without a shirt. He is one actor who has excellent skiing skills and resembles Jon Snow in the profession. He is married to Luiza Gawlowska with whom they have been blessed with a girl by the name Rose. He is happy to be with his wife feels calm when the wife is around and Steve explains how his marriage has led him down the path to happiness. His mum was always calling him, telling him how she wanted to be a grandma and hence was excited when they got their firstborn. He loves dogs, and has an adorable dog as his pet. He is known in real estate to have one of the loveliest homes whose design Steve emulated from online pictures.
Tyler Whitman
What we come along in our lives can motivate us to be great people and Tyler Whitman was driven to business by a colleague. Tyler comes across as private person given that he has never disclosed his age, his birthday nor his relationship status. Whitman is one of the real estate persons in New York who got the motivation to venture into real estate when he acquired his first home in Manhattan through a broker.
