The original ‘Hawaii Five-0′ series was first aired in 1968. A reimagined version of this series was launched in 2010. It is an action police procedural series and it follows an elite task force that fights major crimes in Hawaii. The show is now in its tenth season, which premiered on CBS on September 27, 2019. Alex O’Loughlin
O’Loughlin plays the role of Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett, a United States Navy Reserve. This Australian actor, writer, and director has had starring roles in several films, including ‘The Back-Up Plan’ and ‘Oyster Farmer’. He has also had roles in television series such as ‘Three Rivers’ and ‘Moonlight’. O’Loughlin has three children. His first son was born in 1997 with a former partner. He then had a second son with Malia Jones in 2012 before they married in 2014. Jones also had a son from a previous relationship. The couple and their three sons live in Hawaii.
Scott Caan
Detective Sergeant Danny Williams is played by actor Scott Caan. This American actor has already been nominated for a Golden Globe for his portrayal character. Caan is also known for his recurring role as Scott Lavin in ‘Entourage’, an HBO series. He also has a past in the music industry as he was in a hip hop group called The Whooliganz and ‘The Alchemist during the 1990s. Caan is in a long-term relationship with Kacy Byxbee with whom he has a daughter, Josie James, who was born in 2014.
Ian Anthony Dale
Ian Anthony Dale is an American actor of Japanese, English, and French descent. He has a background in Kung Fu, and he began his acting career in 2002. He is best known for his roles in ‘The Hangover’ and ‘Salvation’. In 2016, he married Nicole Garippo. The couple has one child together. In ‘Hawaii Five-0′, Dale plays Officer Adam Noshimuri.
Meaghan Rath
Officer Tani Rey is played by Meaghan Rath, a Canadian actress who has worked in both television and film. You may have seen her playing the role of Sally Malik in the Syfy series ‘Being Human. Other series in which she has co-starred include ‘The Assistants’ and ‘15/Love’. She has been a series regular in Hawaii-Five 0 since 2017. Her younger brother is actor Jesse Rath. An interesting fact is that Meaghan Rath has played the older sister to a character played by her real-life younger brother in both ‘Being Human’ and ’18 to Life: One is the Loneliest Number’.
Jorge Garcia
Jorge Garcia plays Special Consultant Jerry Ortega in ‘Hawaii Five-0′. Garcia is an actor and comedian who first became famous performing as Hector Lopes on ‘Becker’. However, he is better known for playing Hugo ‘Hurley’ Reyes from 2004 to 2010 in the series ‘Lost’. He has also had roles in series including ‘Once Upon a Time’ and ‘Alcatraz’. Garcia also appears in the Netflix original movie ‘Ridiculous 6′. In addition to his television work, Garcia also performs as a stand-up comedian.
Beulah Koale
The character Officer Junior Reigns is portrayed by Beulah Koale. This New-Zealand Born actor of Samoan descent. His television career has included roles in ‘Shortland Street’, ‘Harry’, ‘Fresh’, and ‘The Cul De Sac’. He has also had roles in many short films. Koale married his long-term girlfriend Georgia Otene in 2019. The couple has twin boys together.
Katrina Law
Actress Katrina Law plays the role of Sergeant Quinn Liu. Prior to this role in ‘Hawaii Five-0′, she was known for her role as Mira in both ‘Spartacus: Blood and Sand’ and ‘Spartacus: Vengeance’. She is also known for playing Karen Beach in ‘The Oath’ and Nyssa al Ghul in ‘Arrow’. In film, she has had roles in ‘Lucky Numbers’, ‘Emmett’s Mark’, ‘Stiletto’, ‘3 Minutes’, and ‘Darkness Rising’. Law married actor Keith Andreen in 2103, and their daughter was born in 2018.
Taylor Willy
Kamekona Tupuola is played by Taylor Willy. This Hawaiian actor is a former mixed martial artist and a sumo wrestler. He first entered the acting profession back in 1982 when he was an extra in ‘Magnum P.I.’. He also appears in ‘MscGyver’ and the 2019 version of ‘Magnum P.I.’ as the same character he plays in ‘Hawaii Five-0′. Other films and series in which he has appeared include ‘North Shore’, ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’, and ‘The Amazing Race 20′.
Dennis Chun
Dennis Chun portrays Sergeant Duke Lukela from the Honolulu Police Department. Chun’s career spans five decades as he became an actor in 1972. His first role was as a young workman in ‘The Brady Bunch’. He then had a role in ‘Inferno in Paradise’. Interestingly, Chun’s first recurring role was in the original version of ‘Hawaii Five-0′ playing a different character. Chun has also played two different roles in different versions of ‘Magnum P.I.’. In 1988, he played William Chun, while in the 2019 version, he plays Sergeant Duke Lukela.
Kimee Balmilero
Medical examiner Dr. Noelani Cunha is played by Kimee Balmilero. Originally from Hawaii, Balmilero toured with Miss Saigon at the age of 17. She then moved to San Francisco to complete her studies before moving to New York to join the cast of Mama Mia! Her first television acting job was in the Emmy nominated series ‘Hi-5′.
Chi McBride
Chi McBride plays Captain Lou Grover. McBride has had many roles in television series, including playing Emerson Cod in ‘Pushing Daisies’, Steven Harper in ‘Boston Public’, Detective Don Owen in ‘Golden Boy’, and Detective Laverne Winston in ‘Human Target’. Some of the films in which he has appeared include ‘Draft Day’, ‘I, Robot’, ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’, ‘Roll Bounce’, and ‘The Terminal’. Before becoming an actor, McBride originally wanted to pursue a career in music. He sang with gospel choirs and studied several instruments.
