10 Things You Didn’t Know About Margo Harshman

If you’ve ever wondered why Margo Harshman looks so familiar, that’s because she is. Margo has been gracing our TV screens for a while now actually. She was a child actress that grew up beautifully before our very eyes. Not only that, she’s managed to maintain a career without the blemish of negative press. Quite the young professional, Margo is still very much active in the industry today with roles on both the big screen and the little screen. She’s always been talented, but she continues to hone her craft through her work. If you’ve ever wondered, here are 10 things you probably didn’t know about Margo Harshman.
1. NCIS
Her most current role, Margo plays Delilah Fielding in the hit TV series NCIS. She plays the extremely smart paraplegic wife of Special Agent Timothy McGee. Margo didn’t always play a paraplegic on the show, but it was one of the most important character developments that the show ever went through.
2. Even Stevens
Perhaps her breakout role came when she was only 14 years old. She landed the role of Tawny Dean in the hit Disney show, Even Stevens, opposite Shia LaBeouf. She played her character for 3 years from 2000 until 2003. That role proved to be a great platform for her to grow out of; she hasn’t stopped ever since.
3. The Big Bang Theory
One of her other roles that makes her so familiar to us is as Sheldon Cooper’s assistant, Alex Jensen, in another hit TV series, The Big Bang Theory. 4. Sports
Margo has a little bit of sports in her family, but we’re all quite grateful that she decided to go into acting instead. Margo is related to Jack Harshman, a former professional baseball pitcher, who played for various MLB teams such us the Giants, White Sox, Orioles, Red Sox, and the Indians. She’s also related to former college basketball coach Marv Harshan.
5. Busy kid
Margo started living towards her dream of becoming an actress early in her life. She entered her first beauty pageant when she was only 2 years old. At 3 years old, she began doing gymnastics and dance. When she turned 5, she started taking piano classes. By the time Margo was 8 years old, she was ready to act and met her first manager.
6. Awards
This talent is actually an award-winning actress. She was nominated for a couple of small awards when she was acting in Even Stevens. However in 2009, Margo won the ShoWest “Female Stars of Tomorrow” award for her role in Sorority Row along cast members such as Briana Evigan, Leah Pipes, Jamie Chung, Rumer Willis, and Audrina Patridge.
7. School dance
There’s a little benefit to acting with some of the coolest stars on TV in your career, especially if you were in high school. Back in her Even Stevens days, Margo actually attended one of her school dances at Foothill High School with Shia LaBeouf as her escort. She must’ve been the envy of the dance floor then.
8. Ancestry
There’s a reason why Margo has quite a unique look that you just can’t point out. Margo’s ancestry is quite eclectic, a mix of many different cultures and heritages. Margo has these all in her blood: German, Swiss-German, Danish, Norwegian, English, Irish, Scottish, and French. This American actress is basically European.
9. Music
It turns out that Margo is actually a musician as well. The piano lessons early on must’ve contributed greatly because she still plays piano to this day in addition to playing guitar and bass guitar. She even writes her own songs.
10. Surfing
It must come from having been born and growing up in California all her life, but Margo is actually an avid surfer. It could also be one of the reasons how she maintains her physique. Margo is quite active; she liked to go and hit the waves back then when she was much younger, but we’re not sure how much of it she does now. Either way, she stays busy regardless, whether it’s in her personal life or her work, so that’s all that matters.
