The man that has set the world record for juggling the most samurai swords could be called a daredevil by the standards of many. It really seems like people that are trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records are attempting to do so in a way that would make a lot of people turn pale when considering the acts that they’re attempting. Samurai swords, which are lethal all on their own, are not to be played with or used in any sort of way that might call into question the sanity of the user, but this guy has set a new bar for crazy after juggling four of the deadly, razor-sharp instruments of death that could have easily parted him from a few fingers if not one of his hands had he slipped.
The great thing you should notice however is that he had absolutely no trouble accomplishing this as he was all over it. His nerves must be made of steel since he didn’t look like he was going to falter even once. That’s pretty cool to see since tossing swords in the air would make anyone nervous, especially if they were that sharp. The one thing I worry about, and not to be doubting a Guinness judge at all, is whether or not all the swords were tested for sharpness or if the guy’s word was taken a being good enough. Just being thorough is all.
That being said if they were all very sharp and they were all weighted right, which they’d have to be in order to make it work, then this trick is something that no one should be doing unless they’re properly trained and have put in enough hours to make it work. Accidents can still happen unfortunately and it’s not enough to say that you’ve put in the time and have the skill. I do believe that we wouldn’t have had this clip if he’d been unsuccessful, and I do think that he might have needed an immediate trip to the hospital had an accident occurred. Seeing as how things went right however he’s in the Guinness Book of World Records and can say that with pride. It’s still an odd thing to get into the book for, but it would appear that a lot of people are willing to do something in order to get their name in the history books. To each their own, he’s made an accomplishment that he’s very proud of thankfully.
Samurai swords are about the last thing I’d want to juggle however since one little slip and the results can be very disastrous. While they’re considered to be one of the sharpest blades in existence they also carry enough weight to them that a downward cut, aided by gravity, could do some serious damage. Despite the fact that he’s not tossing them up insanely high the velocity of the blades on their way down could still carry some huge ramifications for any body part that happened to be in the way at the time.
But, like you’ve seen, he did just fine.
