It seems that the BBC is really killing it this year with odd moments that occur on live television. While this video might not be the viral sensation that “BBC Dad” was a couple of weeks ago, I think it might be pretty close. Many viewers were left scratching their heads after watching horse racing reporter Luke Harvey interview with BBC Breakfast at horse racing event, the Grand National. In the video, Harvey gradually edges his way out of shot, disappearing out of sight. Moments later, the camera pans across to reveal the glorious sight of Harvey sprinting away. Check it out below:

What ensued after that was a series of captions. It was a virtual “caption war” of people trying to figure out what in the world just happened. “When you’re at Aintree with your girlfriend and know your wife watches BBC Breakfast,” wrote Twitter user @BeardedGenius.
So what exactly DID happen?
According to the Evening Standard, Harvey realised on-air that he was supposed to be on Radio 5 Live. Realizing he needed to get to his next interview, Harvey made a speedy – and highly awkward – exit from his BBC Breakfast interview.
This should get around the internet plenty today.
