It’s almost hard to believe it’s been five years since The Life and Times of Tim aired on HBO. I remember when the show was canceled and people online were clamoring to try and raise money to get it back. At that time crowdfunding wasn’t nearly as popular as it is now. But my theory is that if Rufio can get his own short movie, then why can’t Steve Dildarian get Life and Times of Tim back on the air?
The Life & Times of Tim was an HBO comedy animated television series, which premiered on September 28, 2008. The series was created by Steve Dildarian, and is about a hapless man in his mid-20s named Tim (voiced by Dildarian) who lives in New York City with his girlfriend Amy. Throughout the series, Tim constantly finds himself in increasingly awkward situations in both his work and personal life. It was the first animated show on HBO since 1999.
Call me crazy but I think a show like this would resonate with today’s youth even better than it did back then. Plus with the current political climate I think that Dildarian would have a ton of material to work with. Dildarian’s latest project is another animated film called The New VIPs where a group of low-level employees take control of a major corporation after accidentally killing their boss.
For those that never saw Life and Times of Tim, here’s one of the episodes in full. Let’s get it back on the air!
