Lightsaber fights have been one of if not the most key elements to any Star Wars movie since the very first film. A Star Wars movie wouldn’t even be a Star Wars movie if it didn’t feature some kind of battle with Lightsabers. While the lightsaber itself has taken various forms such as the double-bladed lightsaber from Darth Maul and the four lightsabers wielded by General Grievous, it remains a constant in the battle of Jedi vs. Empire.
While we have fun toys that emulate lightsabers that make sounds and light up, it’s just not a “real” experience. And yes, we can use lightsabers in our video games but to really experience the action of a Jedi in first-person you really need something more. And we got that something more back in 2016 when video of a guy posing as a Jedi with a GoPro went viral.
YouTube user Bill Parker created a video of a Jedi strapping a GoPro camera to his person before taking on some Stormtroopers, and other minions of the Empire stationed in the desert. The video has nearly 2 million views and was an instant classic. While we’ve shared that video below, a new video has surfaced of the GoPro Jedi taking on Darth Vader.
The results of this battle weren’t too great for the Jedi. Have a look at both below:
