There are many reality based shows that are on television today that seem to specifically aim for entertainment. Shows that are based on sometimes taboo and awkward conversations that still spark intrigue for the majority of the population. One of these shows that we often here about is that of ‘Sex Sent Me To The ER’, which airs on the TLC network and has for several years now. However, while hearing some of the stories and reimagining that make it onto the episodes, it begs the question as to whether these stories are actually true, or if they are completely fictitious, made up tales. That is why we are here today. We are going to get down to the bottom of the story, whether intercourse and other sexual activities really can send you to the Emergency Room, or if it is all just myth for your entertainment pleasure. Let’s get started.
1. What The Show Is About
The title of the series pretty much explains it all, but for those who don’t know or haven’t heard, we’ve got you covered. In short, the show centers around the recollections of individuals who have literally been injured and subsequently have gone to the Emergency Room after sexual intercourse or other sexual activities. The show itself has the real life individuals retelling details of the scenario that they encountered and have gone through, while it is depicted in recreations by actors for the whole world to visualize right before their very eyes. This is definitely a show that you will want your children to steer clear of, but it can be quite entertaining for the adult world to say the least.
The show first began at the very end of 2013 when it aired on TLC, and as far as we can tell, these stories that are told are indeed true encounters that have actually resulted in visits to the local physician by the individuals. Now that the series has been on the air for a number of years, it can be a struggle to determine whether all of these stories that you hear and see could have really, truly happened. To be honest, the world many never know either whether some of the details were stretched by the imagination or not, but at least it makes for somewhat decent television.
2. Stories To Tell
As we mentioned before in the article, there have been many stories told on the series on TLC so far, and they range on a wide spectrum from the humorous, and all the way down to the just completely strange and awkward. From stories of having sex in a car next to a herd of cattle, to having dual injuries while setting the mood in the shower, to even a broken man part or too. Needless to say, it seems as though ‘Sex Sent Me To The ER’ truly has no limits, and there are more injuries that can occur during intercourse and other sexually based activities than you can possibly imagine. While some of them do seem a little too far fetched to have actually occurred to a real human being, as far as we can tell, all of the accounts that are told on the series itself are real life events. However, we will let you be the judge.
‘Sex Sent Me To The ER’ is definitely not television that everyone can enjoy, and the majority of the time, it is cringe worthy for several different reasons. If you like enjoying the awkward, uncomfortable, and sometimes painful scenarios of others, than you might enjoy the series, and all that the episodes have to offer. In all honesty, even if some of the retellings that they air on the series are stretched a bit from the truth, we are pretty sure that they are in fact real life situations that resulted in an unfortunate visit to the doctor. Whichever side of the story that you want to believe, you can’t deny that ‘Sex Sent Me To The ER’ isn’t the type of television that people get hooked on. You can catch this series, and other reality based series to get hooked to on TLC for your viewing and entertainment pleasure.
