Themed bars have been picking up in popularity over the last decade. We’re seeing a surge in bars tackling a particular movie or television show and totally revamping their look for short periods of time to draw bigger crowds. The concept is called a “pop-up” bar. This summer’s already got a Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones pop-up bar situation planned in Washington, DC and New York City. The trend is likely to continue and gain more popularity. But what if said bars kept their themes permanent? Such might be the case for a bar called “The Cauldron.” According to Nerdist
Matthew Cortland’s dream for The Cauldron has him turning to Kickstarter to try to conjure funds to open the doors to a Harry Potter-inspired wizarding pub and inn. The premise behind the bar? Cortland wants to present a cozy setting full of magic created by blending technology and design to maximum effect. The Cauldron Wizarding Pub & Inn would combine magic, snacks, alcohol, and tech in a fantasy series-esque decor.
