General Hospital fans love little Jake. He’s been through so much in his young life. Car accidents, kidnappings, his family believing for more than four years that he was dead; and he’s just a young boy. This little boy has been through so much, and most of that has to do with Helena Cassadine and her crazy, evil ways. Now that he’s home, he’s still not well. He’s been tough, but we’ve seen him controlled by Helena’s desires in the past few weeks, even though she’s long since dead and gone. This means she’s got some serious control over him, and no one quite understands it.
He didn’t release the Chimera. No one is going to die because of him. We saw the child hesitate when he went to release it. He saw his family asking him not to, but he also saw Helena telling him to do it. He’s torn, and that gives us hope. It tells us he is still in touch with reality, even if only for a little while. He’s got a heart and soul, and that woman didn’t completely crush him.
Can Jake be saved? Can the horrible that Helena did to him be undone? Can he be cured of her ways? Can they move on from what’s happened to them, or is there a chance they might always feel this way? Is this boy destined to spend the rest of his life torn between following the instructions of a dead woman, or is there a way that Jason, Liz, and Franco can fix him?
