Young and the Restless fans are all excited that their favorite soap won the big award at the 2019 Emmy’s, but what about the actors and actresses who were all nominated for some big awards? Not many of them won, but that’s because General Hospital basically cleaned it up with the exception of a few losses her and there. They took home the most wins for their actors and actresses, and we totally get it. But, the men and women from Young and the Restless were definitely nominated for some big categories. We love them, so we are getting to know a bit more about them. One, in particular, we haven’t discussed as of yet is Beth Maitland. She did not win for her nomination in the Best Supporting Actress role, but we love her and want to know more about her.
She’s Always Been a Fan of Acting
The lovely woman who plays Tracy Abbott off and on has been acting her entire life. By the time she reached her teenage years, she was already acting in her local school plays, her local community theater and so much more. Because she is so good at her role, we are not overly surprised this is something she’s been doing her entire life. It shows in her talent and her skill, and we love it about her.
She’s A Milestone Kind of Lady
We bet you didn’t know this about her. She was nominated for an Emmy and she won back in 1985 for the very same role she has now, and that was exciting. But, that’s not the most exciting part about that win in her life. She was not only nominated and won, she was also given a chance to earn something that no one else on the show can ever take from her. She was, and still is, the very first time the show had an acting Emmy winner. That’s not a small deal, either. She will forever go down in history for that role, and she will forever be remembered for that big deal.
She’s Divorced
She and her longtime husband decided to end their marriage in 2018, but they didn’t have much to say about it other than that they did not want to be married any longer. They share a daughter, but they did make it clear to fans that there was no chance of a reconciliation when they made the announcement. It seems they’d already been separated for a staggering two years. In fact, they decided to end their marriage in 2016 on a day that most people are feeling the love and romance, which is Valentine’s Day. That’s a terrible feeling to know that this is the day that they decided to split, but that was their reality at the time.
She Feels Home at Work
It’s been a long time since she was a full-time character living and working in Genoa City, but she loves coming back. She’s not always around, but she is a woman who spent decades working on the show full time. She’s spent decades coming back periodically to show her face, make her situation known, and to try and get the rest of the Abbotts in line. It speaks volumes of her and her costars to know that anytime they call her to come back to the show for a time, she is excited. She says she always feels as if she is going home when she makes the decision to go back to the set, and it doesn’t matter to her if it’s one show or a dozen.
