Five Things You Didn’t Know about Mark Steines

Many people were shocked with Mark Steines announced that he would be leaving entertainment tonight after a 17-year run with the show. While the fans of the show may not have been aware of it, Mark is a substantially well-rounded journalist, actor, and person. While many pigeon-holed him into that role, he is so much more and he has a lot of things currently on the table that ensures that he will be both, busy and productive in the coming years. What we do know about Mark is that he used his time on ET to develop a keen understanding of the industry, while making some very powerful connections. it is not 100 percent clear on Mark’s long-term goals, but he is well under way on the next phase of his journey.

For those of you who may not know Mark that well, we decided to share 5 facts that will help you to get to know him a little better.

1. He Currently Host Home & Family

When Mark walked away from ET, he landed on a show that probably represented where he was at the time, with him starting a new family and all. Mark currently hosts the Emmy award-winning show, Home & Family, where he still gets to engage the fan base and discuss a number of relevant topics that are centered on the home and family genre. It is not clear how long Mark is set to be on the show, but he definitely seems to be comfortable in his new setting.

2. He is the Consummate Host

While he gained notoriety for his role on ET, Mark has proven himself to be a consummate host, having hosted a number of major events over the course of his career, including VH-1’s The 25 Sexiest, Greatest TV Rock N Roll Moments, the Golden Karma Award and more. The most likely reason that Mark has been so successful in his role as a host is his charismatic personality and his ability to connect with the audience. No matter what stage he has stepped on, he has found a way to totally capture the audience.

3. He Has Won Multiple Emmy Awards

In television, the Emmy awards are the equivalent of winning an Academy Award for movies and film. And Mark has won more than one, which again speaks to just how talented and diverse that he is as a  journalist and an actor. He has won an Emmy for his role in Beyond Endurance: Madagascar and another for his role in Beyond Endurance: Borneo. That is not all; he has also won an Emmy for hosting the 2005 Hollywood Christmas Parade.

4. He is an Exceptional Photographer

As it turns out, Mark is not only phenomenal in front of the camera, but he is rather skilled and gifted when he is the one holding the camera. In fact, he has received rave reviews for some of his photographer. It seems that Mark has a great appreciation for every type of beauty imaginable, and he loves to capture those beautiful moments in time. He has received multitudinous rave reviews for his creative photographer. It is not clear if this will lead to Mark sitting in the director’s chair in the near future.

5. He is Classically Trained

Home many people do you know or have heard of that went to school to be a comedian? Well, Mark attended The Groundlings, which is a world-renowned school that focuses on improv performances. That is not all; Mark also earned a Bachelor’s degree from JoAnne Baron/DW Bron Acting Studio, and he has even had vocal and voice training, which he received at the Kalmenson & Kalmenson Voice Over School. He is definitely prepared to take on all challenges in the world of entertainment.
