Five Things You Didn’t Know about Jon Huertas

Five Things You Didn’t Know about Jon Huertas

Jon Huertas is an American actor of Puerto Rican descent that has an impressive line of film and TV roles on his resume and has obviously been a hardworking individual within the industry since he entered the life over two decades ago. He’s had a few very notable roles that have gained him some notice and been in a few shows and movies that have really managed to establish his fame as an actor.

His most popular role seems to be as Javier Esposito on the show Castle.

5. He’s an Air Force veteran.

He enlisted in 1987 and became an aircraft nuclear/conventional weapon specialist. He served in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Just Cause and did his country proud before returning home where he would eventually become an actor. He’s had a few military roles in his life and they were probably bolstered in part by the fact that he has served and knew what should and shouldn’t be included.

4. His acting career started in 1993

He took to the screen pretty naturally it seems since he’s had no trouble gaining attention and perfecting his craft throughout his time spent in the industry so far. Some people that come from the military don’t take to acting so well but Huerta has been comfortable and quite professional in his roles so far. As a supporting character he’s done great, but as a lead he might still need just a little more of a push.

3. He’s made a music video.

This shows a diversity to his talents that’s kind of nice to see in any actor since it makes them a little more versatile and less held down by one role in life. Not many people can pull this kind of thing off but Huertas seems to have done it well enough. It’s the kind of accomplishment that you could say is easily overlooked if the video didn’t go anywhere, but it’s still something to be proud of.

2. He was on the Board of Directors for the Screen Actor’s Guild.

He was an alternate member for about a year but it still seems like something that would look good on the resume. This kind of responsibility isn’t something that people take lightly after all and if he was in fact called upon to do or say anything that might have any meaning it would be even more important to know that he did what was necessary. Alternate or not that’s something to consider as impressive.

1. He had a part in Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

He played the part of Brad, the witch hunter, so you can imagine that he wasn’t a favorite on the show right away, if at all. Sabrina was a favorite of many adolescents back in the day and the mere fact that the show was based around the idea that she was a witch trying to navigate her way through high school made a bad or suspicious character out of anyone that wasn’t immediately recognized as a friend.

Jon Huertas is still a star on the rise it seems.
