It’s incredible to think that the allure of flipping house is still going strong. It’s been a few years now since we first saw houses being flipped on TV. Jump ahead to a few years later, and flipping has become an entire genre on TV, with new shows on the subject matter coming out left and right. A&E actually just came out with a new show called Flip Wars, a show that takes ghost flipping to the next level. Ghost flips happen when investors put in their money on properties they’ve never laid eyes on. It’s a high-risk investment that has a potential for high rewards, and Flip Wars is showing us all how it’s done. Here are five things you probably don’t know about this new show.
South Florida
The show is based primarily in Florida, which is one of the largest and busiest real estate markets in the world. The properties that will be featured on Flip Wars will be representative of what the Florida housing market is like, and that can easily range from low income properties in one block to multi-million dollar properties just a couple of blocks down the road.
Schroeder and D’Alessandro
The show’s main characters are Gene Schroeder and Angelo D’Alessandro. Schroeder and D’Alessandro are big names in the flipping business, especially in the Florida market. They started flipping houses in Florida about 14 years ago. But between the two of them, they’ve done thousands of properties together. It’s clear to everyone that this partnership is a good one and one that makes a lot of money as well.
Bank On It!
Schroeder and D’Alessandro own a business together. A few years ago, they formed Bank On It!, a property buying and selling company based in Florida. This company is a testament to the flipping skills of these two, which we should catch sights of on the new show. Their team averages about 10 to 15 flips each month, and that number continues to grow each year.
Those Flipping Guys
Flip Wars will not be the first reality show for these two flippers. Schroeder and D’Alessandro can also be seen on the show Those Flipping Guys, another A&E series. The angle on this show was different, as it focused more on the basic renovating and flipping process that turns homes into rental properties. TFG was actually not a scripted show. Everything that we saw on screen were actual events, and all transactions were purchased to wholesale investors. The show also featured other investors learning the trade from Schroeder and D’Alessandro.
Florida State University
Both Schroeder and D’Alessandro were graduates from Florida State University, located in the state capital of Tallahassee. This is important for the two men because this was where they first cultivated their desire to help out their communities with the idea of helping young businesses to grow. They have also spent a lot of their downtime helping the local communities by contributing their time, efforts, and finances to non-profit organizations.
