There’s not much known about Danielle MacDonald yet save that she’s been on the scene for less than a decade, she’s Australian, and she’s making her move into Hollywood in a big way. The rise of Australian actors has been huge in the past decade and more and MacDonald is doing what she can to get a piece of the action. Who can blame her really? Hollywood is in need of some new and younger talent and Australia seems to be sending them this way on a fairly regular basis. The best part about it is that along with so many others, these people crossing the world to reach Hollywood can really act.
Here are a few things about MacDonald you might not have known.
5. She missed out on her first show because her Visa didn’t come in on time.
Considering the fact that immigration and even crossing the border since 9/11 has been slightly harder than ever before coming to America without a Visa was not an option. Unfortunately for Danielle she’d already been approved for a role in the sitcom Huge. The unfortunate part was that since her Visa didn’t come in on time she couldn’t take the role because she was unable to make her way to LA. That had to smart.
4. She was in American Horror Story: Roanoke as Bristol Windows.
Do you recall the exuberant fan that gave Lee something she’d made at the conference during the finale? That was Danielle playing the character of Bristol Windows. She wasn’t the craziest fan in the world but she was a bit obsessed to say the least. It’s almost surprising that the creators didn’t develop that angle a bit more.
3. Her film debut came in 2010.
It was a small part but she played a cashier in The Thief, which was directed by Rachel Weisz. Her real acting debut came in 2013 when she played the part of Tess in The East. Since then she’s been acting in films and on TV trying to build up her resume. So far she’s amassed an impressive amount of appearances.
2. She is an Australian actress.
As was stated above Australian talent seems to be coming more and more. It’s nice because it creates a little more diversity in Hollywood and allows for younger talent to move in and see what they can do. Hugh Jackman was probably one of the most notable Australian talents to come around in a long time, but Danielle is just one of many that have been making their way to the US.
1. She was lauded for her role in Every Secret Thing.
Despite being in the midst of a star-studded cast Danielle was lauded as being the perfect actress for the role she was placed in. It was despicable and not at all like the woman herself, but her mastery over the role was such that it was all too easy to hate the character. That is the skill of this young woman, and she’s just getting started. Imagine what she could do with a decade or more to develop.
Remember the name and face, Danielle MacDonald is on the rise.
