Brad Falchuk is a television writer, director, and producer who was born in Newton Massachusetts in 1971. He is best-known as the creator of successful television series including ‘Scream Queens’ and American Horror Story’ along as being the co-creator of hit comedy-drama series ‘Glee with Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. In addition to creating these hit television series, he is also the writer and executive producer of ‘Nip/Tuck’. 1. He is Engaged to Actress Gwyneth Paltrow
Falchuk has been dating actress Gwyneth Paltrow since 2014. The couple announced their engagement on January 8, 2018. This is not the first marriage for either Falchuk or Paltrow. Falchuk was married to Suzanne Bukinik Falchuk, a television producer, from 1994 to 2013. The couple had two children together; Brody and Isabella. Paltrow was married to Chris Martin between 2003 and 2016, although they had separated in 2014. They also had two children together; Apple Blythe Alison and Moses Bruce Anthony.
2. He Co-Founded ‘Young Storytellers’
Brad Falchuk studied at the American Film Institute. In 1997, while he was a student, he co-founded Young Storytellers with fellow students Andrew Barrett and Mikkel Bondeson. This is a non-profit arts education program that was created by the trio in response to funding cutbacks for creative arts programs within the Los Angeles United School District. Falchuk now serves on the advisory board of directors for Young Storytellers.
3. He Has Won Three Awards
Falchuk has won awards for his work in recognition of his talents. All three of his awards are for ‘Glee’ and are shared with co-creators Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy. In 2010, they won the AFI Award for TV Program of the Year and the TV Quick Award for the Best New Drama. The following year, the three men won their second AFI Award for TV Program of the Year. Brad Falchuk has also been nominated for multiple other awards.
4. His Brother is Evan Falchuk
Brad Falchuk’s brother is Evan Falchuk, who was the chairperson of the United Independent Party (UIP) which is a political party that is based in Massachusetts. He was formerly a healthcare executive who has represented the UIP since 2014 and they won 3% of the votes that year. In 2016, the UIP lost official party status. Evan Flachuck left the UIP in 2017 and joined the Democratic Party.
5. He Wrote an Unsuccessful Pilot About a Transsexual Gynecologist
Although the majority of Brad Falchuk’s work has been hugely successful, this has not been the case with all his projects. In 2008, FX network bought a television pilot which was co-written by Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy. The two men had formed a close working relationship during their time working on ‘Nip/Tuck’. The storyline of this pilot revolved around a transsexual gynecologist and was titled ‘Pretty/ Handsome’. Although the pilot aired on FX, the network decided not to pick it up as a series as the pilot was unsuccessful.
