Five Guacamole Movie Scenes for National Guacamole Day

Yes there is a National Guacamole Day and it’s celebrating one of the healthiest and most tasty things that nature has ever provided, the avocado. If you don’t like them that’s your prerogative, but they’re definitely tasty in a good bowl of guacamole with the right amount of seasoning and some chips to go with it. Some people like it on toast, some people like it in salads, and some people don’t mind just eating it for a healthy snack. How spicy it gets really depends on the person eating it since some folks like their tongue burning and their nostrils flaring as their sinuses get nice and crispy. But a nice mellow guacamole goes with so many things that it’s hard not to like it. Some people might not like the consistency or the flavor but when you pair it with several other spices and then use it with other foods it creates a harmony in your mouth that just works.

Here are a few movies that at least show how guacamole can be used in cinema.

5. Fanboys

Fanboys are usually some of the most uptight and socially-clueless people you’d ever want to meet since they care so much about whatever it is that has caught their interest that they’ll defend it to the death. But in this film the stereotype is taken for all it’s worth when the guys travel to the Skywalker Ranch in an attempt to allow their dying friend to see the Phantom Menace before he dies. Along the way however they meet The Chief, who gives them a special type of guacamole that is laced with peyote, a very strong drug. Just imagine getting high on guacamole even once and you might swear it off forever.

4. Step Brothers

The two step brothers in this film are just horrible to each other until they get to be friends. But this bed idea is simply too much. This is something that even a kid would think would be a bad idea since the construction put into this thing is shoddy from get go. The moment one of them jumps on top, asking if the other likes guacamole, it becomes KERSPLAT city as the guy on the bottom starts trying to fight his way out. The mere mention of guacamole isn’t really what makes this scene but it certainly helps as it serves in adding to the scene just a bit and giving a little more warning that there’s a laugh-worthy moment coming.

3. Despicable Me 2

Of all the things that have appeared in the Despicable Me movies this tortilla hat is one of the best since it has a solid moat of guacamole running within the brim. This is something that you’d love to see in a restaurant if someone would have the gumption to make it since it could be an appetizer for a whole group of people or part of a meal that would feed at least four or five. For Gru it seems like less than a distraction but then the guy has usually got so much on his mind that adding to it with this snack-worthy delight isn’t that big of a thing. But really, how cool would this be to see in the real world?

2. Movie 43

This scene is one that had a lot of people talking since it seems like it would be pretty controversial, not to mention unsanitary in some regard. But just to let everyone know the truth this was not Halle Berry’s real boob stirring the guacamole. She used a prostheses to accomplish this scene and therefore got to spare herself the indignity, kind of. You can imagine a few people had something to say about this, but then a lot of people say a lot of things about a lot of movies so what’s one more film that has something that people don’t agree with? It’s a movie after all and not to be taken too seriously.

1. Fresh Guacamole by PES

This is actually a very well put together short film that is pretty entertaining. You get the feeling that someone had to put in a lot of thought on what implements they were going to use for this and probably took their time trying to figure out just what would work. The stop motion is kind of deceiving but it’s still great enough that you can imagine that it took a while to complete from start to finish. Be that as it may it was definitely worthy of being nominated for the Best Animated Short Film in 2013. It’s innovative in a way that makes a big difference in film after all, and used a few different elements that were easy to figure out.

Guacamole is a great snack or a great addition to a meal, no matter how you make it.
