Five Great Movie Scenes Where Dogs Make a Huge Mess

Dogs typically make at least a few messes as they grow from being puppies into adult dogs. In the movies however when they make a mess, they tend to make a HUGE mess. There’s no easy cleanup with a lot of them since the effect that movies tend to go for is on in which the dog has made such a massive mess that there won’t be any way to just use a towel, a mob, or even a broom. Usually in these cases we’re talking about a containment unit and a lot of bleach and cleanser to get the kind of stains that are left out of anything that was touched. Or perhaps it would even be best to just replace the items that were contaminated.

Dogs are messy, just so you know.

5. Beethoven

St. Bernard’s are big, big dogs in any case, but when a big dog gets dirty, they tend to get dirty in a big way. Beethoven isn’t the typical dog that you’d want living in your home until he’d managed to realize his boundaries and just where he could and couldn’t lay. For instance, after getting all muddy, dirty, and letting the slobber build up for a while you might not want him on your bed, or even in your house.

4. Turner and Hooch

Hooch is a good example of why you don’t leave certain dogs inside your car when you go to get something. It’s usually never advised to leave your dog in the car anyway when it’s a warm day out just because they could suffocate. But a dog that’s considered a high-energy breed won’t sit still long and will find ways to amuse themselves that their owners might not find too amusing. The price you tend to pay is the upholstery you have to replace.

3. Marley & Me

Despite being the least messy out of all the dogs on this list Marley has got one of the biggest reputations for being a rascal. As a puppy you can’t really blame a dog for being hungry. They’re almost like little kids in a way, their metabolisms are going so quickly since they’re growing that they could be constantly hungry. Of course that doesn’t mean you need to let them upend the bag of kibble all over the floor.

2. The Secret Life of Pets

Max was used to being the only dog in Katie’s life, and he wanted to keep it that way. When Duke, who was already starting to establish his dominance in the apartment, accidentally knocks over a vase to watch it shatter on the floor, Max gets an idea. Of course with all that happens in the movie you tend to forget that this mess stays put until Katie gets home. She takes it in stride though, one dog is messy enough, two is just begging for items to get broken.

1. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Snots is a homeowner’s nightmare. First he digs through the trash and creates a horrendous mess, then when the family is running from a squirrel Snots decides it’s time to take up the chase as well. The amount of damage he does is probably well into the thousands at least.

Sigh, dogs.
