Five Actresses Who Should Play Ariana Grande in a Lifetime Movie

Liking Ariana Grande is a matter of personal taste and if you don’t then some people might say you don’t have any. But the truth of it is that while she is successful, does seem to be charitable and an all-around good person, that one misstep is what people still remember. A lot of us probably recall the video that was blasted all over the web about Grande saying she hated Americans while standing in a doughnut shop. Thanks to TMZ and What’s Trending this video is still up and on the web and is able to be viewed. It’s ancient history to many at this point and Ariana has definitely apologized for her words, but like many people it seems that she more sorry she was caught than because it was the wrong thing to say. That’s opinion honestly, and many would gladly assail it from side to side (yes, that was a pun), but it’s one I think I’ll stick with. That being said though one can’t deny that’s an immensely popular singer and has been lauded as one of the best of her era. IF there’s ever a movie made about her on Lifetime it’s kind of amusing to think who might be able to fit into her spot and play the role as she does.

Here are just a few picks that might seem viable.

5. Sarah Hyland

Now I almost said Maisie Williams, but I think that would have been pushing it since Maisie is a little round in the face despite being a knockout. To play Ariana a woman would need to be a little bit slimmer and have a certain look that could be called similar if not absolutely spot on. None of the women on this list are bound to be spot on, but Sarah would definitely be able to step into the role largely because she’s played the part of a young woman that isn’t too far off from the persona that Grande has portrayed for so long.

4. Brie Larsen

This might be a yes or a no from people since Brie seems more tomboyish in her appearance and mannerisms at times, but it does seem like she could pull it off. Of course given that she’s now being considered as the new face of the MCU it might infuriate feminists to see her go back to being a girly-girl since the trailer for Endgame showing her in full makeup has already sparked outrage among some groups. That being said, it would still be a role that she could possibly take on and make work since she’s been stretching her acting muscles recently and would no doubt love another challenge.

3. Ellen Page

Some people might argue with this one since Ellen Page doesn’t seem like much of the girly type and has usually been a little more serious in her roles. But she does seem to have the look that might be able to make it work if she could find her way to actually accepting the role and getting into it. Obviously this would be something of a long shot since a lot of people might state that she just doesn’t take on roles like this for her own reasons. But hey, there’s always that one chance that it could happen, right?

2. Alicia Vikander

This is one of the women that might be as close to Ariana in looks as anyone could possibly be since that kind of fey-like look is something that any actress would need to really pull it off. Ariana definitely has the look of a young woman that is out to show some sex appeal and make it obvious that she’s there to get attention, and Alicia has already played a role that’s similar to that even if the character of Lara Croft wasn’t always seeking the same thing. She got the attention, that’s the point, and if Alicia could fill this role and work in the opposite manner, meaning she would be seeking out the attention this time, it could work.

1. Jessica Alba

To be honest I used to get Jessica Alba and Ariana Grande mixed up until I saw their pictures side by side, and then it became obvious what the differences were. Still, despite the fact that Alba is in her 30s now and Ariana is still in her 20s it does seem like it could work. Jessica has been in a couple of movies where she’s had to show that she has the moves to really rock the dance scene, and she’s made it work and made it look good all at the same time. As far as music goes there’s always voice-overs and editing to take care of that. But her acting is solid no matter what anyone thinks.

Those are just a few choices, there are bound to be a few more that work.
