Remember that time in 2013 when Steven Soderbergh said he was going to be retiring from directing? Did anyone really believe that? Whether you did or do not makes no difference because not only is Soderbergh back, he’s brought a ton of star power with him. His latest film Logan Lucky is already looking quite stellar. With a cast that includes Daniel Craig, Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, and Riley Keough, his latest caper film is bringing back visions of Ocean’s Eleven. Not in terms of the story but in the quality of the movie.
The film follows a pair of brothers played by Channing Tatum and Adam Driver who plan an elaborate robbery at the Coca-Cola 600 race with their sister (Riley Keough). Their plan requires the help of an explosives expert, and they find just the professional in Joe Bang (Daniel Craig). He’s also the first hiccup seeing as he’s currently incarcerated.
Logan Lucky will be in theaters in August and marks what could potentially be an extremely successful return for the 54-year-old Soderbergh. Check out the trailer below:
