After 22 long seasons of checking Hollywood’s fashion do’s and don’t’s, Fashion Police is finally putting down the microphone and rolling up the red carpet. What started off as a simple Hollywood event coverage and commentary has turned into one of the most iconic shows in the industry, thanks to its most infamous and fearless late leader, Joan Rivers. The finale is expected to air next month and is also rumored to pay tribute to Rivers and the amazing legacy she’s established through the show.
Everyone knows Rivers’ biting commentary; she was ruthless in her honesty, but she was also correct majority of the time. If Fashion Police were an actual task force, Joan Rivers will always be the chief, even though she left us all too soon in 2014. The fierce lady still had so much life and fight in her, but after her death, daughter Melissa Rivers continued on her legacy and heralded the show just like her mom did. She’s joined now by an eclectic cast that includes seasoned E! host Giuliana Rancic, fashion icon Brad Goreski, reality star Nene Leakes, and comedienne Margaret Cho. The entire panel will be appearing in the final episode, as they all pay tribute to Joan and the years that have come and gone in the Hollywood fashion world since 1995. They’ll be discussing the most heated fashion debates from the last two decades and also remembering the craziest guests they’ve ever had on the show.
One of the highlights of the series finale will be a look into some of the show’s never-seen footage. Fashion Police released a glimpse of what they’ll be doing with a video of Joan Rivers poking fun at Joan Collins. The video of Rivers is an overwhelming reminder of the vibrancy and personality she added to the show, and it only makes us wish we could see more of the host today. The finale is promising to give us a bit of that plus more. The tribute to Rivers is expected to be a completely emotional one, but the series finale is not going to be all nostalgia.
The current panel will be bringing a few surprise guests and fashion friends to help close out the series with a bang. They’ll also be bringing back some of the fans’ favorite segments form the past including “Starlet or Streetwalker” and “Guess Me From Behind.” Everything about the show will show us how much fashion has progressed (or maybe not) over the years, and it’ll be a fun way to look back into what we all loved and loved to hate back then.
We’re not sure what’s in store for Melissa Rivers after the show, but she’s just happy that her mother has become an unforgettable part of our culture for many years to come. After they’re gone, we’re not sure whom we can trust to tell Hollywood how it’s dressing up all wrong. Tune in to E! on November 28 at 8 p.m. ET to watch the final episode of Fashion Police: The Farewell.
