Fan Theories That Might Be True on the Show The 100

Fan Theories That Might Be True on the Show The 100

The 100 is a sci-fi favorite of many fans worldwide despite the fact that it has been kept so low-key during its current four-season run. Despite being a very popular show it hasn’t enjoyed the same level of attention as other sitcoms, and has at this point been relegated to a stint on Netflix where people can hopefully catch up with past seasons if they’ve missed anything. However, one intimate truth that plagues every show ever devised has to do with the opinions and theories of the fans that continue to watch and dissect each episode.

Those theories pose some interesting questions that the show’s writers have yet to fully address, even though at times these theories are simply a great load of imagination that dedicated viewers want to see played out. With that in mind, here are five fan theories that might carry some truth to them.

1. Are the nuclear reactors really about to blow, or was ALIE bluffing?

It’s widely believed that ALIE was perhaps one of the best big bads to grace the show thus far, but in regards to her willingness to lie to Clarke and the others concerning what was about to happen, even she couldn’t bluff her way past reality. While the City of Light was a pleasing escape for those that took the plunge, not even ALIE could have stopped the very real meltdown that was bound to come.

2. ALIE didn’t unite Trikru and Skaikru.

From season one every fan knew that the Grounders and the newly-arrived Skaikru were bound to be at odds with one another. They were strangers in a strange land that none of them had ever seen before, and the current residents were anything but happy to see them. The effect of binding them all to a mind-altering experience did not erase those well-established hatreds.

3. Is Octavia going to reunite with her brother and the others?

After killing Pike at the end of season 3 it’s safe to assume that Octavia has gone off the reservation for the time being. She disliked Pike from the get-go, but after he executed Lincoln her undying hatred for the man was bound to allow only one final outcome. Octavia and her big brother Bellamy will no doubt be at odds for some time, if not for the rest of their lives, which in the scheme of the show could end at any time.

4. Kane and Abby are bound to finally get together.

Most fans could see this coming from miles off. Despite the fact that he condemned her husband to his death while they were still on the Ark, Abby has been convinced that there is still some good in Kane no matter that he’s been so hardheaded for so long. For his own part, Kane knows that he still harbors a need to do good for others, but it’s often buried under a wall of pragmatism that simply frustrates viewers and his fellow survivors.

5. Where are Kane’s scars?

Anyone that watches the show will be well aware that Kane was crucified prior to his joining ALIE’s little cult, but so far there is no mention of and no sign of any scars that should by all rights be obvious. Was his experience a dream sequence or are the writers messing with the fans?

Conclusion

There are literally hundreds of fan theories, which is quite ironic considering the name of the show. Each one bears some validity, while others are very much on point with what has happened and what should be expected to happen. Whether the writers will take this into account or not remains to be seen, but never let it be said that real fans won’t look past the entertainment value of a favorite show.
