In a land far far away in the year 2001 a movie by the name of The Fast and The Furious came out. Back then it was a car movie. Today it’s still a car movie. The focal point of that film as well as the few films that came after it were none other than cars. Non-stop action and non-stop cars going really really fast. What propelled the franchise to the box office juggernaut it is today is adding in theft and family as more central themes. That and adding in more cars, more explosions, and more over the top stunts that look 100% unrealistic but still make you say “wow” because of how cool they look on screen.
In any event, if you’re looking to ever learn more about the cars from the films, Wired sat down with Dennis McCarthy, the man who built all of these cars throughout the movies. Wired got him to go through each one of them. From the movie that started it all, all the way to The Fate of the Furious, no hood is left unopened.
