Friday’s Days of Our Lives reminds us that you cannot escape your problems. Eric is a drunk driver, and he is in trouble for what happened on New Year’s Eve. He killed his friend and he is responsible for the injuries of several others. No matter what he does, he cannot escape the fact that he is the person responsible for causing these problems, though he wishes he could rewind time and undo all of it. He wants to see Nicole, who is very angry at him for killing her fiancé. He tells her that he has a drinking problem and that he has had it most of his life. He tells her over and over again how sorry he is and that he only wants to remove her pain and fix everything. She is so angry that she cannot even look at his face right now. She yells at him that she cannot help him feel better. She knew he was drunk and she still allowed him to get behind the wheel of the car, so she feels just as responsible and she is never going to forgive herself. She kicks him out and slams the door.
Depressed, he heads straight to the liquor store for a drink. Fortunately, Jenn finds him as he is about to drink it and she takes him to see Lucas. Lucas explains to him that he also has a drinking problem and that he’s been in AA for a long time. He invites Eric to join him for some meetings, hoping that maybe he can help this man in this manner. Unfortunately, Eric tells him that he’s going to jail, so it doesn’t matter if he goes to a program right now. He leaves, but Jenn goes after him. We are hoping that she doesn’t allow him to get too far away and that she is going to be there for him when the time comes for him to make some life changing decisions to get his act together.
In his effort to get used to having Daniel’s heart, Brady is intent on finding out what is going on with all he dreams he is having. Is he really experiencing some of Daniel’s feelings through his heart? Fynn explains to him that it is not uncommon for patients with a transplant to feel as if they are more of the person who provided them with an organ than they are themselves, and that it’s not something new to him. Brady still has no idea how to handle what is going on with him other than to try and reassure Theresa that he loves her and not Nicole. It’s not something she seems overly convinced is true.
Hope and Rafe are quick to get out of town and make their way to the cabin at Smith Island, but they are not without issue. They take Ciara and Chase with them and they decide to make it a friend’s trip. Despite all that is going on with their kissing and their intimate moments, we don’t know what is happening with Rafe and Hope. She doesn’t seem to want to take things too quickly, perhaps because she just got away with one murder and is currently being chased down for another? After all, that is why she is leaving town in the first place. She leaves so that she can escape Andre and his suspicions that she is the person responsible for murdering Stefano, but going away is all he needs to further put a hole into her carefully mastered plan.
While she is gone with her little family and their ‘friends,’ Andre makes it his business to get into Hope’s house, and he is quite successful. In the house he is able to find her bun and three bullets missing, and he is able to hide it since she is not there. He almost gets caught as Shawn comes into the house and allows himself to come in, but Andre is able to sneak out of the house while Shawn is headed upstairs. He goes home and he has a doctor visit him. After all, he was just involved in a blast. He was inside the building that Stefano’s body was hid inside when the building was blown up. When the doctor suggests that they handle his face and his gashes, Andre cannot be bothered with it. He has other things to do that do not include taking his time on his face when there is a murdered that has to be caught.
