Depending on what you like to watch you might have seen Emilie De Ravin or you might not have. She’s been around for a while and has been kind of on the down low with some of her projects but with others she’s been front and center and hard to miss. One thing about her that some people might not know is that she has a pretty heavy accent but thanks to being able to moderate and even mask it some folks have thought that she was one hundred percent American with the accent to boot. But if you listen to her talk during an interview you swiftly find out otherwise and can’t help but be impressed at how well she can mask it. It doesn’t seem that she’s done a lot as of late since her last appearance seems to have been a few years ago. She’s still listed as active however, so maybe she’s taking a break at this time.
Here are a few things you might not have known about her.
10. She began studying ballet at the age of 9.
There seem to be a lot of actresses that have taken ballet at one point or another in their lives and to be honest it seems like a great idea as it promotes balance and poise not only on a theatrical stage but for their on screen performances as well.
9. She played Belle in Once Upon A Time.
The great part about this show was being able to see all your favorite characters and enjoy their development as real-world characters that suddenly found out that they were fairy tale characters instead. It was particularly interesting to find out that the ‘beast’ that Belle fell in love with was really Rumpelstiltskin, who was the mastermind behind a lot of the story.
8. She enjoys gardening and hiking.
Everyone has their favorite hobbies when they’re not working and sometimes folks want to do as little as possible or enjoy a good walk in the woods or hills just to clear their mind, at least she stays active.
7. She as in the remake of The Hills Have Eyes.
This was an absolutely brutal movie to watch since it seemed to skip past the sensibilities of the viewers and just went full-bore into madness of the type that’s not only disgusting but also quite provocative when you really think about. Some of the visuals in the film are just down right disturbing. But for all that it was kind of a flop.
6. She’s allergic to peanuts.
This is an allergy that seems to have gained a lot of prevalence over the last few decades and is quite serious since some people can go into shock just by being around peanut dust. As allergies go it’s probably one of the toughest to work around sometimes.
5. She was in Brick.
Don’t feel too bad about missing out on this movie if you did. It’s a pretty good movie but it wasn’t all that hyped up when it first came out. It’s one of those Indies that you really have to pay attention to and at this point you have to look for in order to find.
4. She has plans to be an actor for the rest of her life.
She has no plans on going anywhere which is kind of funny since while she’s listed as active at this point she hasn’t done much of anything in the last few years. So maybe she’s taking time out for her family and will be back eventually to take on the big screen again.
3. She could be described as an extrovert.
She likes going out and doing new things, meeting new people, and having new experiences. She’s definitely the type of person that isn’t that shy when getting out of the house and engaging in activities that allow her to make new memories.
2. She’s a big Audrey Hepburn fan.
A lot of ladies in Hollywood absolute adore and idolize Audrey Hepburn since she was one of the classiest women alive and was also one of those that many knew exemplified the kind of actress that they wanted to be.
1. She’s a homebody.
As much of an extrovert as she is she does like to stay home a lot and enjoys her time with her family. There’s nothing wrong with being a homebody as it simply means that you enjoy the comfort of your own home a little more than anywhere else. It’s usually a comfort-zone kind of thing that a lot of people feel the need to enjoy at times.
Emilie definitely strikes many as someone that could be and can be great if she finds the right part that allows her to truly expand her talent and show people what she is capable of. So far she’s been in a few good roles but she kind of needs to find something great to really show what she can do.
