Doctor Who: David Tennant Brings Back Tenth Doctor For Special Video

Recently, David Tenant made a short reappearance as the Tenth Doctor in a short video, which also saw the reappearance of David Tenant’s wife Georgia Tenant. For those who are unfamiliar, Georgia Tenant played a character on Doctor Who as well. To be exact, she played the clone daughter of David Tenant’s character on an episode called “The Doctor’s Daughter,” which provided rather amusing to some long-time fans of the franchise because she was already the Doctor’s daughter, seeing as how her father had played the Fifth Doctor. Regardless, the episode was actually how David and Georgia Tenant met one another, which eventually led to their marriage in 2011.

Content-wise, the video was rather short, meaning that there wasn’t that much to be uncovered from it. In short, the Doctor explained to Georgia Tenant’s character that the Cardiff Space-Time Rift was once again posing a serious danger to the Earth, which Georgia Tenant’s character greeted with much more calmness. The short video was made for the purpose of honoring Gary Russell, a writer and editor who has been involved with the Doctor Who franchise in various ways. For example, he performed editing for not just Doctor Who but also a couple of its spin-offs. Furthermore, he was responsible for writing some of the novels as well as one of the comics in the setting, which was on top of his work in directing radio plays as well. Summed up, while Russell’s role in the Doctor Who franchise has not been as prominent as that of some, there can be no doubt that his contribution has been immense.

Could We Be Seeing David Tenant in the Doctor Who Series Once More?

Some people might be wondering whether the short reappearance of David Tenant as the Tenth Doctor means that he will be making another lengthier reappearance in the Doctor Who series, which will now be starring Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor. This is not an unreasonable line of speculation, seeing as how the time-traveling nature of the Doctor means that multiple incarnations of the character have met up for a wide range of reasons in the past. However, considering that David Tenant is set to star in Good Omens while continuing to provide his voice to Scrooge McDuck in the new DuckTales, that seems improbable.

With that said, David Tenant not making a reappearance as the Tenth Doctor in the near future doesn’t mean that he can’t make a reappearance as the Tenth Doctor a little bit further in time. In fact, that might actually be for the best because Jodie Whittaker still needs time to establish her version of the character in the minds of Doctor Who fans, which is critical because that will enable the various Doctors to better play off of one another when the time actually comes.

Regardless, while it has been some time since David Tenant starred in Doctor Who as the Tenth Doctor, there is still a fair amount of love for him in that particular role. As a result, should further news come out, it seems likely that it will spread through the Internet like wildfire, meaning that there will be very little chance of interested individuals missing it whatsoever.
