Days of Our Lives fans know that people cannot stay on the show forever. Salem would be packed with people if there were no deaths or exits, but that doesn’t mean we ever want to see some people go. As a matter of fact, there are some people we love so much we wish we could see them on the show forever. We wish that we could see their smiling faces and see them live their lives with abandon. We love that, but there is little we can do to stop that from happening when they have to go. But, for now, we want to focus on something interesting. Some people die. And that is never good for anyone who loves them, but there are some characters who died on this show and never should have left. They never should have died in the first place. Who do you think those people are?
Dr. Daniel
What we think bothers us so much about his demise is how final it was. Even in the soaps, it is kind of hard to bring someone back to life if they died and then their heart was removed from their body and given to another man. Brady walks around every single day with the heart of Dr. Daniel beating in his chest, which makes a return seem like something that will probably never happen. We get it, but we can miss him, right? He’s someone we love, but he’s also someone we want to see more of. He brought so much to the show, and we also think that there is a problem with the way things were left for so many after his death. It began a downward spiral for Nicole. It also began a downward spiral for Eric, and so many lives have been negatively touched by his demise. We just want him back, and we don’t get why others don’t get that or see that or make that happen. It’s not for us, really. But, we can always hope for some sort of miraculous return from him.
Will Horton
Will was missed very much. He was one of the most prolific and iconic characters on daytime television, and we do miss him. We miss everything about him. We missed his love for life. We missed getting to see him raise his own daughter as things unfolded for her and for his baby mama and her life, and we think he could have had a serious impact on things when he was here. He was killed, but that doesn’t mean he was dead. He wasn’t dead, but he didn’t remember his life. Now that he is back, we can see that things would have been much different in a better way than they were before he was gone, and we think people like Gabi and his parents and Sonny and even Paul would have been better with him here than they were with him gone. His life could have saved so many things had he been spared. We are glad he is back and all, but we think he should have been here the entire time.
Jack Deveraux
First and foremost, watching him die to save the likes of his daughter was noble, and we think any father would be on the same page in terms of that. However, we are not on board with the fact that his death meant so much to those around him. He is someone who never should have been written off the show, because he ended up causing so much pain. We think that there would be so much more going on if he never were to die, and then come back, and then marry Eve, and then make his family miserable. We think that his daughter and his son would be better in relationships — and we think they would have avoided the drama all together. We think his wife would have been much happier as a whole. We think he should have stuck around, kept it interesting, and lived his best life for the past few years. We aren’t upset that he came back, but we don’t see the value in killing him off at all many years ago.
