Days of Our Lives fans know that Shawn is going to have a long discussion with his mother. He is going to tell her that he understands she’s not in the market to continue a marriage to a man who lied, but he is going to point out to his mother that he made it work with Belle even though she cheated on him. He will tell her that it was the most difficult decision he’s ever made, but he loves her. She made a mistake, and he wanted to see if they could make things work.
He will also tell his mother that he’s not sure the lies he told her are the worst thing ever. He didn’t cheat on her. He slept with Sami when she ended their engagement and were no longer together. Was it a good move? No, it wasn’t. But it also wasn’t cheating. It doesn’t look good or feel good, but the lies aren’t the worst thing that ever happened in Shawn’s mind. He wanted to protect Hope, and that’s why Rafe lied.
Shawn is going to tell his mother that she shouldn’t give up just yet. We don’t know if she will listen to him, of course, but we do think there is a good chance she might just listen to him a little. She might make it her mission in life to hear what he has to say and hear him out. Will this work for Rafe and their marriage?
