He attended The Collegiate School For Boys in Manhattan, graduating as head boy in 1978. Duchovny later pursued higher education at Princeton University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English literature, and continued to Yale University for a Master of Arts in English literature, where he began but did not complete a PhD.
