At the young age of 13 Danielle Bregoli has become a relatively famous name in America. You might remember her becoming well known for her appearance back in September of 2016 on Dr. Phil. She’s better known as the “Cash me Ousside” girl. During the Dr. Phil episode about unruly teens, Danielle was on stage with her mother Barbara Ann and made a complete spectacle of herself while talking in an accent she claims she got from “the streets.” Her “cash me ousside” line which was a challenge to her mother to fight her in the parking lot has become somewhat of a staple line in internet meme land. So why do we care about Bregoli or at least why do I?
Because she keeps cropping up in the news. She and her mother got kicked off a Spirit Airlines flight which was caught on tape. Bregoli apparently punch a passenger after said passenger was harassing her mom. Then months later she and her “crew” got into a fight outside of a bar. And most recently? Sources connected to Danielle say she finds it absurd that her father, Ira Peskowitz, a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy is trying to weasel his way back into her life after years of being an absentee dad. Ira started a GoFundMe page saying he needs $50k to cover legal expenses to get his daughter “proper help.” He’s actually raised $1300 already. Bregoli wants nothing to do with him.
OK so let’s talk. As a parent the first thing that comes to mind is “what the hell is wrong with Barbara Ann? You bring your daughter to Dr. Phil? That’s your first mistake. You claim she can’t be controlled and yet you’re on a flight with her somewhere? Why do the two of you keep popping up together? What the hell is going on here? To be honest I’m not 100% sure what you do with an unruly teen like that but my guess is that this started a very long time ago and I just can’t see how a teen winds up like this. Unless we’re talking severe trauma or some screws loose in her head, this behavior could have been avoided at a very young age if Barbara Ann did her job.
Now, does that excuse Bregoli for her actions? Absolutely not. In fact she’s old enough now where Barbara Ann can send her a true message and take real action. Send her away. Cut her off. Do something, anything to wake this girl up. Going on planes and getting into fights is not going to solve your problem. I know it’s tough to say as a parent but at some point you have to let them go, even if they’re your own children. A bad apple is a bad apple whether they are blood or not. It doesn’t mean you ever stop caring but it does mean that you have a life too and you need to live it. I truly hope this girl turns around though in this day and age I just don’t see it ever happening.
