Of all the characters on South Park, Butter could widely be considered the most “tame,” “sweetest,” and “voice of reason” of them all. Despite how jacked up a life this little kid has lead, and just how messed up his family is, Butters has a way of staying positive through it all. He keeps his head up, keeps his friends positive, and tries to do the right thing with the gifts he’s got. Sadly he doesn’t have many gifts nor sense because of his upbringing. However, that’s exactly how Parker and Stone want to play the character and it works perfectly.
However, there was one moment on the show when Butters strays from his normal self and we see a dark side only reserved for characters like Cartman or plenty of others on the show. And that makes this scene extra special. If you haven’t seen it before then you’re in for a treat.
I’d like to conclude this by saying: Who’s the boy that can laugh at a storm cloud? Turn a frown into a smile for free? Who’s the kid with a heart full of magic? Everyone knows it’s Butters!
